In the summer of 2008 I was at a bar in Santa Monica, CA.  Just chillin' by myself watching the singles scene go on around me.

Corny one-liners, people thinking they're gold when they're dirt, plastic bodies, and empty intentions.

And since that night it's pretty common for me to experience these feelings of fatigue when out and about on the singles scene.  A lot of hassle for a lot of nothing.

So that night I sat for 2 hours at the bar, drank Seagram's 7, and wrote this song about finding 'the one'...which of course made me think about the ones I've let get away.

Hopefully I've learned from those mistakes, so when I meet the next special one, then...

AIN'T NO MORE TO CHASE

"She's the one to cherish
Way to good to waste
The running stops right here and now
Ain't no more to chase"
My eyes
As tired
As my legs.

Constantly
Chasin'
The babes.

Was faster
When I
Had speed.

Was harder
So hard
They would bleed.

Time to stop runnin'
Time to settle down.
Time to let my feet
Try to touch the ground.

She's the one to cherish
Way too good to waste.
The runnin' stops right here and now
Ain't no more to chase.

My eyes
Much bigger
Than my needs.

No passion
Just lust
Tween the needs.

At times
My acts
Stuff of lore.

No longer
Needin'
To score.

Time to start lovin'
Time to play it cool.
Gettin' kinda old now
To play the boyish fool.

She's the one to cherish
Way too good to waste.
The runnin' stops right here and now
Ain't no more to chase.

Startin' to make it real
Findin' a soul with appeal.
Takin' me off of the street
Findin' true love...what a feat.

She's the one to cherish
Way too good to waste.
The runnin' stops right here and now
Ain't no more...

Time to start runnin'
Time to make it pure.
Runnin' stops today now
Ain't no more to chase.

Time to start runnin'
Time to make it pure....

Ain't no more to chase.
